Over 30 million people living in the United States suffer with migraines and 3x more women than men suffer. Migraines are throbbing pain, usually on one side of the head. Each person who suffers from an attack has different triggers. If there are so many triggers, is there a healthy solution or just something a person has to mask and take one day-at-a-time? If you knew how to get rid of a migraine once and for all, not just masking the problem would you?

Who has not suffered from a headache through their life, it is our body way of informing us that something is wrong. Either we are coming down with the flu or the weather has changed and now our sinuses or allergies are affecting us. No matter why we have a throbbing pain, what do we do? How do we handle it? Do we take something to relate it? Do we run to the doctor?

What causes migraines?

Blame a Parent

When we were younger we were always blaming our parents, but in this case it maybe true. If one of your parent sufferers from migraines chances are you will also be suffering. I remember when I was growing up my mother spent most of her time in her dark room because of her migraines. We (children) had to be very quiet and that was just a dreadful way for children to live through their childhood. Times have changed that you do not have to continue to suffer. This is what the doctor does not tell you. Do not just mask the problem; get rid of them once and for all. Stand up for a healthy living; for your health and well-being.

Food Killers

Is food getting you sick? Did you know that certain food may cause allergies which in turns cause a headache? You may have heard avoid your triggers. Okay you say to yourself, easy said than done. What are the triggers? – Chocolate – Cheese – Caffeine – Stress – Alcohol – Weather just to name a few; I consider myself a Chocolateholic. Everything I do was all about chocolate and it intensified when I was on my menstrual cycle. I craved chocolate as if it was the last thing on earth. I was so sick after eating chocolate, but I did not put two-two together until later.

What about stress? Who does not have stress? Do you have children? Are you going to school? Are you a single parent? Did someone love you die? Are you getting married or unfortunately a divorce? You might have heard someone tell you, “Just relax.” That's great, but do not you relax when you're with your friends and family? It does not change the fact that you are going through things or even have a large list of things to do. You live busy lives and things need to get done – who else is going to do them? Do you eat or drink? Then in turn do you turn to your favorite food such as alcohol? I would come home from work and have a glass of wine, but the next day I would wake up with a migraine.

Medication

You are in pain. That is the bottom line, so you finally find a doctor who prescribes you medicine. But some are not really listening to you. They see your history, so they prescribe you a shot of TORADOL and send you on your way, but you are still in pain.

You continue to see another doctor who prescribes you more medicine which you have already explained does not work. Great! It has other side-effects. It causes your stomach to hurt, dizziness, faultness, tiredness, and many more. There are some medicines that have reactions to other medications. So you begin to wonder, “Is it even worth it?” You wanted the pain to go away, not for your life style too slow down. What do you do? Stand up for healthy living; for your health and well-being. It is all a guessing game with these doctors. Do not stop until you are feeling the way you want to feel – Great and Healthy.
