Migraines – They Suck

If you've ever had one, then you know they suck. Throbbing pain, head pressure, upset stomach, stabbing discomfort … generally debilitating.

I had one yesterday. I had the dubious luck to get the blinding vision vision auras first and knew what was coming. I got myself some ibuprofen first, started drinking water, caffeine, and eating chocolate. Second, I rushed home from work and grabbed my hot migraine salve.

This was my first true experiment. I did have a friend tell me that it helped her and while her head was not eliminated (because honestly, not even modern medicine has that figured out) the symptoms were significantly improved.

I was hot, sweating, and nauseous. I knew I needed to cool down. I thread my work clothes off, cracked a few windows and laid down with my eyes shut, but not too tight because it pulls and makes my skull want to explode.

The lid slid off and I rubbed it along my temples, and forehead. It was smooth and did not pull, so step one of the experience was complete. I rubbed fairly firmly along my temple and up into my hair and then above my eyebrows. I continued down along the sides and bridge of my nose, careful to avoid my eyes; essential oils will cause a burning sensation.

The relief was not instant, but the combination of ibuprofen and salve got rid of the throbbing in my temples and behind my eyes. I was happy that it worked …

I applied it a few more times since I enjoyed the experience of massaging my aching skull and my symptoms were gone through the night.

This morning when I woke, I could feel it hanging around, lurking. I gulped down some more ibuprofen and packed both hot and cold salves for work.

At work, I felt the pain coming, but I was cold sweating a little. My hands, feet, and nose melt cold. Out came the cold migraine salve. I did the same massage techniques and it felt very nice. The scent of the salve was also very nice and relaxing.

Stop adding salt to food as it does not need it. Good quality fresh food prepared by you in your kitchen is far safer than that purchased from others. Always check the salt content before buying take-away or frozen foods. Prepare and cook your own meals and avoid the salt by using herbs. Believe me you will not even miss it.

Use Flavonoids instead of Salt:

Most argument that sale brings out the flour in food. That's not true! All food has some flavor and the use of flavonoids will do more for you than salt.

Grow your own herbs, such as rosemary; sage; parsley; time; mint; basil; bay leaves; and so on. There are so many to choose from and most can be grown in a shared vessel. Other herbs to use are celery; ginger; angles; bananas; and chives. Garlic and onions go well together and with them add just a hint of salt and any meal will turn out great.

You see, when someone has a headache, there must an underlying problem that is causing the headache. The headache is purely a body signal or a symptom of the true underlying problem. And while medications do relieve symptoms, they never correct the underlying problem of the headache. Who in the world has not suffered from the glitches of heads? A header is defined simply as a pain, which could occur in any area inside the head. They are sometimes felt at both sides of the head, while sometimes the headache is restricted to a single zone of the head. It may happen that a wave of pain emerges from a single point in the head and get spread across the whole head.

Symptoms:
Headaches can be felt in the following ways:

· A sharp, piercing pain.

· Dull, persistent and throbbing sensation.

· A gradual or sudden pain.

· Pain lasting from minutes to hours

Causes of Headaches:
A header is not a pathology; rather it is a symptom manifesting the psychological or physiological pathologies. There could be a hundred f reasons behind a simple head ache but broadly heads are divided into two main categories. They are:

Tension -oriented headaches:
Seventy percent of the population suffered from tension oriented headaches. This is common in both male and females; although adult's especially older people are more prone to such type of headaches.

The muscles of head and neck contract intensely with a painful stimulus. The causes for such a muscle contraction includes

· Stress

· Fatigue

· Pre and post -menopausal hormonal changes

· Eye sight overload

· Nicotine addiction

· Alcohol addiction

· Over stimulation of sensory nerve like via loud noise, intense lightings
