Magnesium migraine is as simple term that connotes magnesium and calcium imbalance in the body as possible triggers for migraines.

Magnesium is an alkaline mineral found in leafy vegetables such as broccoli. Almonds and fruits like banana and avocadoes are also very rich in magnesium content. Chances are that the person may risk hazard to himself or to others around him.

Taking magnesium in excessive amounts can cause diarrhea while too much of calcium in the body may weaken the bones and teeth. To prevent magnesium migraine, an average person should take not more than 420mg of magnesium daily. This may come in the form of foods as stated or maybe from taking mineral supplements. Be aware however, that some supplements have side effects such as liver deterioration. Ask first to a health professional before taking in vitamins and minerals supplements.

On the other hand, magnesium deficiency may be caused by wines, alcohol and caffeine. As such, magnesium migraine can be prevented by maintaining a healthy balance of magnesium and calcium in the body. This may seem as a formidable task. But the simplest step starts with ensuring that the person stays away as much as possible from potential sources of magnesium loss in the body. Eating right and fit lifestyle will also improve the chances of preventing migraines.
